Year-round training and riding is now a reality thanks to the arena from Graham Heath Equestrian
About the project
Scottish horse-riding and training expert Lisa Ogilvie needed a new arena to promote her equestrian services as a year-round option in Scotland. The temperamental climate of Scotland had previously presented a real challenge to Lisa by making outdoor riding and training difficult at certain times of the year, thus impacting her business. Turning to Graham Heath Equestrian (GHE), Lisa had an indoor arena built so that she could provide year-round horse-riding and training services to her clients. The specific challenges of this project were not only those caused by the Scottish climate but also be Lisa’s existing facilities.
“The indoor arena had to be different because it was going to stand alongside another building. This meant the doors had to be in a different place when compared to the standard design,” explained Lisa. “GHE did all of the plans for us and created a bespoke solution that matched our needs perfectly. It will make a big difference to my stables by allowing us to do a lot more training and riding with our horses – even when the Scottish weather isn’t on our side!”
A collaborative service
As well as taking a hands-on approach to the design scheme and working closely with Lisa to achieve the perfect bespoke design she was after, GHE were also obliging and extremely helpful in their communications; ensuring Lisa’s project ran smoothly as she worked closely with GHE to achieve an efficient and collaborative service. “Nothing was a problem for GHE,” she explained. “They were very professional and sorted out any challenges quickly and efficiently. “I would definitely use them again and would have no hesitation in recommending them to others. In fact, I’ve already recommended them to quite a few people.”
Exceptional quality for an affordable price
As well as being impressed at the level of service she received from GHE, Lisa was also drawn to the quality and affordability which the firm offered. “They were very competitive on price but this didn’t represent a compromise on quality” she explained. “The quality of the grade of steel which they were using was actually better than other companies – giving us great value for money.” Now that the project is complete, Lisa can enjoy hosting additional riding and training sessions at her stables throughout the year and is no longer at the mercy of the Scottish weather.
